Year 4 - Amethyst and Citrine Classes 2024 - 2025

Welcome to Year 4

Our Teachers

This year, the staff in Y4 are:

• Amethyst Class - Mrs Long
• Citrine Class - Mrs Bibi

Our Year 4 teachers are supported in class by Mrs Hussain, Mrs Azhar, Mrs Begum and Miss Thanjin.

iPads and Online Learning 

Your child should bring their iPad to school with them each day, ready to use with 100% battery and their charger in their bag. In addition, all children have a login to several websites which are used for completing school work and homework. To keep children safe online, they have been taught to keep their usernames and passwords safe from others. The websites used in Year 4 are below and can be accessed by clicking on the logos.

PE and Games

Children should bring their PE Kits to school on the following days:

• Amethyst Class - Monday and Wednesday
• Citrine Class - Tuesday and Friday  

Reading Champions 

Your child will be bringing 2 reading books home in their bag every night. One will be an Oxford Reading Tree book and the other will be an Accelerated Reader.  Please read with your child as often as you can.  If your child reads at least 3 times a week, they will earn a ‘Reading Champion’ sticker each week and will work towards a termly reward with Ms Beesley with all of the Reading Champions across Northmoor Academy!

Homework

Spelling Homework is given out on a Monday.  Practise these spellings with your children each night.

All other homework is given out on a Friday either on teams, purple mash or on paper.  This is to be completed by Thursday the following week.

On top of this we also expect reading to be completed as part of your child's homework and LOTS of practise of their timestables.

Music

In addition, both Year 4 classes will have brass tuition
